More than a tradition, Jumping the Broom was once an act of defiance—a silent but powerful rebellion against a system that sought to erase Black love, Black unions, and Black identity. Born out of oppression, yet deeply rooted in African heritage, this ritual carries the weight of a people who refused to be broken.
